Serving as a Missionary to Japan

When people hear the word “missionary,” they often think of someone sent to a foreign country to preach the gospel.

But in truth, it simply means “someone who is sent with a mission.”

Missionaries may be sent by churches or serve in mission organizations, working to expand the Kingdom of God.

I myself served in missions for about 15 years with YWAM and Faith Builders Ministries, and in 2011, the Lord gave me the name of my current ministry: Gospel Essence Life.

Although I have a stable living environment through caregiving for my parents, the work of interpreting message videos ended in 2023, the online school was closed by the Lord, and the Kansai ministry tour will conclude in July.

If I were to work part-time, I would not have the time or space to carry out the new ministry God is calling me to.That’s why I am inviting you to partner with me in building “Jesus’ Door in Japan”, starting in Tokyo.

Monthly Ministry Goal

I’m praying for ¥50,000/month (about $320 USD) to be provided for ministry activities.

This is based on 50 hours/month of volunteer work at a local café, with an average wage of ¥1,000/hour.

My fundraising goal is to reach this amount monthly, and I plan to send out a support letter every 3 months, praying for a provision of ¥150,000 each quarter.

Why I’m Uniquely Positioned for Mission in Japan

Having worked alongside many foreign missionaries, here are a few reasons why I am effective in this field:

  • Fluent in Japanese – I can go deep in conversation and don’t need language school.

  • Living locally – I already have a place to live and do not require living expense support.

  • Experienced in café ministry and SNS – I’ve used YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram for ministry.

Not for Profit, But for the Kingdom of God

Time and finances are needed for both café volunteering and social media outreach.

Although I’ve looked into Instagram monetization, I have no intention to use it as a business or income source.

The goal is to offer the “Door of Jesus” to the people of Japan.

I may sell digital content in the future, but I don’t expect meaningful income—it may take years, if at all.

🏠 Let’s Open the Door Together

Through a café in Tokyo and my Instagram ministry, I long to create a space where the Holy Spirit is saying in real time:

“Your home is here.”
“Your life has purpose.”
“You are valuable.”
“Come back home.”

Let’s open this door together, and invite prodigal sons and daughters to return to the Kingdom of God.
